Bobby Vees Golden Greats was a hit!! We celebrated our 55th class reunion a few weeks ago. As teenagers we were all Bobby Vee fans; I saw him 9 times back in the late 50's and early 60's. Now we enjoy a band that his son, Tommy, is a part of. I had some other CDs of Bobbys, but thought the Golden Greats would be fun to play during our reunion/5(36).

Bobby Vee's Golden Greats was the first compilation of the singer's hits, assembled and released in late , in time for Christmas of that year, at a point when he fairly ruled the charts and his records were thoroughly representative of what was happening in music. The biggest hits -- not in any particular order -- were reserved for the first side, the biggest hit on side two being "Rubber.
