Oct 07,  · Aerocatch hood pins. The screws should be installed on the outside of the hood. The washers and nuts should be installed on the inside of the hood. (Note: A magnet pen makes it easy to hold nut and washer in place.) Be sure to cover your engine bay to prevent any screws, nuts, or washers from falling into the engine bay.

If you do find the broken cable, using the pliers pull on the part that is still attached to the main lock under the hood to open it. If you can’t find the broken part, you would need to venture outside the car and arm yourself with a long flat screwdriver and a little flashlight (or your night vision gear!) to try to get ‘under the hood.’.

Sep 10,  · On my 92, I was able to get the hood open without needing any tools. Lay on the ground, reach up past the bumper, and feel along the hood release cable (a flashlight may help). There's a section of exposed cable outside the sheath at the end, you can feel the latch right there. Push it while applying pressure upwards to the hood, and it will.
